SPRING....

Honeysuckle is blooming already! I love the smell!!
This is one of the signs i made! I kinda liked it and decided if it didn't sell it was mine! :-) oh and that rock is from IDAHO!!! ;-) the pink grassy stuff is a plant i decided to try and am falling in love with it!

This picture was taken at dusk....and it's been really dry here to that's why it still looks like winter on it! The grass just won't turn green!
This is in the front.....i kinda liked how it looked together....just wish i knew how to keep the oak leaves out!

This is our house! for real!

I've actually been feeling a little more like a real life these days! I haven't had as much time to paint which is a big pain but i'll just have to get used to it i reckon!

I work one or two days a week at Dickerson's store...they sell lots of things....it's a small country store....the big thing though is their Hot Dogs and Deli sandwiches! i love working the front where we make the hotdogs and run the cash register but the back with the sandwiches is fun too....there are a lot of things to remember and i forget a lot of them but hopefully one of these days i'll remember! ;-)

Today i baked 3 or 4 dozen cinnamon rolls and 4 loaves of bread.....and tomorrow Maurita is having a bunch of friends over here and we are going to make donuts and maybe cookies....oops...i wonder if mom bought bread flour....otherwise we won't be able to make any donuts!

Another thing i'm doing lately is trying to grow some herbs....some of them are coming but my cilantro is dying? weird....i have dill, spearmint, thyme, lavender, chives, basil, oregano, something else but can't remember....anyway i tried about all of them from seed...mom doesn't know if it'll work but i wanna try it....just to see if i can....the plants are expensive! the lavender and chives i did buy were really bad!

i've also been planting tons of flowers! I think i'm related to my grandmas! :-)

I know...I get dizzy and feel yucky in the summers here too. BTW...I think the cilantro and lavendar both will have a very difficult time surviving because of the heat. That's been my experience w/ Lavendar. There is another flower that looks similar to lavendar but doesn't smell as good....and is heat resistent. But I don't know it's name. With Cilantro it grows really fast and goes to seed and it's done....maybe I had the wrong kind?
With your fresh basil you can make lots of delicous stuff. On top of a chicago style pizza chop your basil and sprinkle it about....just a little. It's so good. Or do a chicken picado recipe and cut some fresh chives on it...it's pretty and good. In rice we like to put a little dill and a little mint along w/ a TBSP of butter and some cajun seasoning. You might need salt too. Serve some grilled fish w/ your rice. Anyhow, can you tell I'm jealous of your herb endeavors? Good Luck! Hope it goes good for you!
thanks amy! gives me some ideas! like i said i don't know if it'll work...i put it in pots and keep them in a shadier spot.....and i could take them in in the heat of the summer...the catalog said they should grow in zone 8 which is where we are...but we shall see i reckon!

ponderings...

Some times i wonder....why do i even blog? do ppl even read it? but then i wonder am i selfishly wanting ppl to notice? do they have to comment? I rarely comment on other's posts...so why should they comment on mine? I do try to comment all the time! but for some reason since my computer is so slow....the internet anyway...it tells me i'm not allowed to....so even if you don't see a comment from me know that i wanted to! and maybe that's everybody elses problem! the same one i have! their internet's being snotty! ha! ;) I love to read all the blogs i do read and wish like crazy that i could comment! so here a some comments i've thought about recently.... Amy...I loved your Christmas blog! and i know ya'll might get tired of me saying this...but it almost brought tears to my eyes...thinking as how we miss out on that kinda stuff here in South Carolina.....since everybody else...or a bunch of everybody else is way out there! But thanks for the pictures and all...

i Think it's time...

To go on a trip! I was thinking that i needed to get out my suitcase to pack to go on the camping trip and all of a sudden realized how odd it felt to be getting it out....and thinking back to camping trips before how it didn't feel so odd to get packed up....well, i suppose that means i've been working too much and not going places anymore! ha ha! This summer i may get a few excursions in here and there...but not sure yet if i will or not.....i am going to LA for 10 days, but there are a few other places to go too..... i mean i need to put my suitcases to use right?! :-) it's definitely time! ha ha! in other news...this weekend is the end of school....graduation....etc! I have to milk this evening because one of the sons of the guy I milk for is graduating....and the mama usually milks and she wondered if i would for her...i get the next 3 days off...so i'm milking tonight...
