Termites....

I've taken up a new profession in the last day! Us girls have been hearing this noice like something is scratching or chewing or something in our bathroom but haven't been sure what it was.....so Wednesday evening i found these holes in the window sill....I decided that there must be SOMETHING in there! so i ripped the trim off the window and discovered the culprits! TERMITES!!! Ugh!!! Apparently they came in the window and went down from there because as far as we can tell right now there is only damage on the one wall....they were in the boards of course...and believe it or not the sheetrock was being played with too! they were eating the paper on the sheetrock....and even had gone thru to the front and were eating the paper behind the paint! So today i tore off the sheetrock and all the insulation...its only about 5 ft of wall but it took a while! in a stuffy hot bathroom to top it off! i also discovered one spot on the wall that was rotted away from being wet and i can see the brick thru the hole i made in the plywood! Oh well, this too is some of the blessings of living in the SOUTH!

I think i'll stick to my day job!

She forgot to add...that her mom was in there after she got the first piece of wood off, and helped her to know where to go from there, then when it got partly exposed...Dad was called in to add his wisdom to it all...and said the whole wall would have to go! And the sisters helped carry out the debris, and who mixed up the spray...Geneva did most of it...but the rest of us helped too! Hows that for whining!! LOL
lol mom! yeah y'all did help! and i was really not looking forward to cleaning up the mess! i think i forgot to mention and tell you also that i went and sprayed the whole basement since i'm sure it prolly hasn't been done since the last time i did it before i went to idaho! or was it just last summer i forget....
