Wednesday afternoon I went to clean up a HUGE eye sore in the woods by my garden....
it was ugly pile of JUNK and a tree had fallen over on top of it. I started sifting thru the dirt
and discovered that it was lovely dirt w/ junk (glass, rugs, shoes, cords, bags, etc) and I would need
a tractor or something bigger then my hands and shovel and measly little wagon to take care of it...
Dad came over sometime while I was doing it and offered his tractor and chainsaw and help on
Saturday....An answer to prayer...kinda! :-) Before it was even breathed...
So around 9 am I heard the boys coming over and I decided to hurry and head out and see what was up. after a bit here comes the tractor! first off the tree had to be removed...and then in clearing it out we discovered there was Concrete under our feet...under all that dirt and junk! when it was all finished and dad took the loader after it and scraped it as clean as possible we realized that yes, indeed there was concrete and a nice size slab of it! I think dad said it was a 8x20 or something along that line...yes, it would have made Ryan's shed if he'd know it was there...but now...I think it will make a lovely campsite or something of the sort.....a flower work shop (minus the shop)? who knows...I think I can find a use for it! it's kinda set back in a corner of the woods and it's a lovely little secluded area...We burned Lots of stuff and found some treasures...There are about 2 other treasure islands that need cleaned up yet and the eyesores will be mostly gone! In the summer they do disappear in the foliage but I still know they are there! :-0
I found some tanks cut it half that I might just plant some flowers in...I was thinking I was gonna need to go buy some flower pots.....:-) I think I'll save the pennies-did anybody read to Sunday School Paper today?!!?!! Oh, and one top of this lovely slab....there was even some lovelier composted leaves, etc! yes, I will even save there too! Blessings from above do come it ways we would have NEVER guessed! SIGH OF RELIEF!!! and back a little farther in there is also Hog panel I think I could put to use for bean fence or tomatoes? or something....Raspberries? who knows....I don't have to buy that either! I will just have to find some stakes to hold it up.
So, cleaning up ancient junk can be kinda fun! You might just find some treasures and Concrete slabs!
